Love God. Love others.
Greenpond Baptist Church was formed in 1865 and has been a part of Baptist life for many years. Originally named New Hope Baptist Church, the church was founded in the summer of 1865 with 26 members. The structure was first a log building. The current building's construction was completed in March of 1952. Renamed for a small pond in the center of a cluster of trees found in the woods to the rear of the church, Greenpond Baptist has been a pillar in the community for 160 years. Over the many years and changes, the members' dedication to their church and the church's dedication to the community remains constant. Located on Anderson Mill Road in Chatham, Virginia, we work within the community to serve God and serve others. Our beliefs as a church are derived from the 1963 Baptist Faith and Message.
Greenpond Baptist Church meets weekly for Sunday School and Worship Service. We enjoy both modern music and traditional hymns, provide a Children's Sermon, and listen to God's message brought to us by Pastor Charlie Ryan each week.
